3 RB Visitors To Help Cowboys 'Skin That Cat'

IRVING (105.3 THE FAN) - There are multiple ways to skin the NFL cat, as the Dallas Cowboys are proving with one aspect of their 30 Pre-Draft Visits this week at Valley Ranch.
Among those being hosted: A trio of NFL draft-eligible running backs cut from vastly different cloth.
Ohio State's Ezekiel Elliott might be the best player in the Draft. He's a complete player worthy of consideration at No. 4, where Dallas selects, or worthy of a trade-down where the Cowboys still land him. This would mark a hiccup in philosophy as Dallas hasn't wished to spend a great deal of currency at the position — but Elliott is that good.
Also visiting: Alabama running back Derrick Henry. All the skins on the wall are there: Heisman Trophy and National Championship and he's 6-3, 245, a freight train … but he lacks shiftiness. Maybe that's why he's viewed at Valley Ranch, most likely, as a second-round value.
And third there is UCLA's Paul Perkins, who is a shifty runner at 5-10, 208, and comes with a Cowboys pedigree of sorts as he's the nephew of Dallas running back legend Don Perkins.
And remember, the Cowboys are doing all this homework even after signing veteran Alfred Morris to join the competition with Darren McFadden and Lance Dunbar … because there are multiple ways to skin that cat.
