3 Hospitalized In Dallas DART Bus Crash
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM/AP) - Officials said that three people were taken to the hospital after a crash on Interstate-30 involving a pickup truck, a semitrailer and a Dallas Area Rapid Transit bus carrying people with mobility problems.
DART spokesman Morgan Lyons said that two of the three passengers on the bus were taken to the hospital Friday as a precaution to determine if they had any injuries. The Dallas Morning News reports that the pickup driver was taken to a local hospital, but his condition was not known.
Lyons said that the Dallas Police Department was working on the crash. A call to police was not immediately returned.
Meanwhile, Interstate-30 was shut down on Friday afternoon while crews attended to the scene. An overhead sign was damaged during the crash, and it was determined that the damage created unsafe driving conditions.
Until the sign is repaired, the westbound lanes of Interstate-30, near Fair Park in Dallas, have been closed. Check the traffic section for alternate routes.
