FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Arson investigators in Fort Worth are looking into a series of suspicious fires, all of which took place this week just south of downtown. The most recent incidents happened early Tuesday morning.

Fire officials were called to the 900 block of East Hattie Street shortly before 2:30 a.m. and arrived to find heavy flames and smoke. Then, only about 20 minutes later, firefighters responded to the 200 block of Williams Street -- just a short distance away -- about another blaze.

Both of the burned buildings were abandoned and nobody was injured in either incident.

A spokesman for the Fort Worth Fire Department said that another fire took place at a different vacant building in this same area on Monday. Because of the location and timing of these three fires, arson investigators are trying to find out if they are connected.
