3 Former TCU Players Arrested For Public Intoxication In Dallas
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Three former Texas Christian University football players, one of whom was drafted in 2009 by the Dallas Cowboys, were arrested early Sunday morning for public intoxication after a disturbance at a Dallas nightclub.
According to Dallas Police spokesman Kevin Janse, Cory Grant, 23, Jerry Hughes, 22, and Stephen Hodge, 24, were arrested and charged with public intoxication after a disturbance at The Bank nightclub in the 1400 block of Main Street continued onto the street.
Sunday is Hodge's birthday.
Hodge was a linebacker drafted in the sixth round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys. He is currently a free agent. Hughes is a defensive end drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the 2010 NFL Draft.
Grant is a Second-team All Mountain West Conference defensive tackle from Houston who started all 13 games for the Horned Frogs last season and was tied for the second most sacks on the team.
A Bank employee, who asked to not be identified, said a minor confrontation with club security continued outside the club. The employee said one of the players's friends stepped between a security member and a scuffle broke out.
"It's just a big misunderstanding that involved alcoholic drinks," the employee said. "It really wasn't a big deal at all."
Janse refused to comment further on the situation until Monday "after review of all associated reports." Mugshots for the men were not available Sunday.
