IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) — Three brothers have been arrested for aggravated assault after allegedly attacking an 83-year-old woman, who is now on life support, police say.
Residents in the 1300 block of Boyd Drive called 911 Friday afternoon saying the woman had been assaulted and was lying on the ground unconscious, Irving police said. The woman, identified as Dessie Hancock, was taken to Parkland Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police say though she is on life support, she is not expected to live.
"I think she was at the wrong place at the wrong time," said Hancock's neighbor, David.
Three men were looking for an acquaintance at the home when the 83-year-old neighbor showed up to visit someone, police say. Jesse Perkins, 20, allegedly punched, kicked and stomped the woman and then ran from the scene with his brothers, 18-year-old Thomas Perkins and 19-year-old Edward Perkins, according to police.
"How could four, three young men come in yesterday and beat the living day lights out of her? How could that happen?" said another neighbor, Dolores. "They are just punks, and I hope they never get away with it."
Police say there is no apparent motive, but the investigation is ongoing.
Police arrested the brothers for aggravated assault with serious bodily injury. They are in Irving Jail on $100,000 bond.
