2nd Irving Bus Crash Victim Files Lawsuit

FORT WORTH (AP) - A woman who was among the last passengers to be released from a hospital following a deadly bus accident in North Texas has become the second person to file a lawsuit against the bus charter company.

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports Patricia Ruth Markham is seeking damages from Cardinal Coach Line Inc. of Mansfield for negligence. Among the allegations in the suit filed Wednesday are that the driver failed to inspect the bus and control his speed before the accident last week in Irving that killed two passengers and hurt more than 40. The passengers were bound for a casino in Oklahoma.

Markham was released from a hospital Wednesday.

Another passenger, Charlotte Reed, filed her own negligence lawsuit Monday.

Bus company owner Matt Biran wasn't immediately available for comment.
