28-Year-Old Soldier From San Antonio, Javier Gutierrez Killed In Afghanistan Firefight

SAN ANTONIO (CBSDFW.COM) — A Texan was one of two Americans killed during a firefight in Afghanistan this weekend.

Javier Gutierrez, 28, of San Antonio and Antonio Rodriguez, 28, from New Mexico, died Feb. 8 in Nangarhar Province as a result of wounds sustained in combat.

Six other United States service members were wounded during the fight. Military officials also said there were three Afghan casualties as well.
