27 Year-Old Dentist Wins RI Ironman 70.3 Race
PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) A 27-year-old dentist from New York has won Rhode Island's Amica Ironman 70.3 competition.
The Providence Journal reports that David Kahn, a former swimmer at the University of Texas, finished the race in just over four hours. The top woman was Magali Tisseyre, of Canada, who finished about three minutes short of 4{ hours.
Nearly 1,400 athletes participated in the event, which included a 1.2 mile swim at Lincoln Woods State Park, a 56-mile bike ride and a 13.1 mile run.
The top Rhode Island finisher was 29-year-old Luke Willenberg, a Catholic priest from Barrington. Also among the participants was Kahn's brother, Matthew, who is a student at Brown.
