21 Best Rangers Ever: Kenny Rogers

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - From young relief pitcher to solid starter and then to seasoned veteran, the Kenny Rogers experience in Arlington was never a dull one.

Rogers, who will soon be inducted into the Rangers Hall of Fame, spent 12 of his 20 seasons with the Rangers, joining the team in 1989.

His 12 years wearing Ranger Blue were split into three separate stints (1989-95, 2000-02, 2004-05).  If you combine  his time in Arlington, he logged the longest tenure of any pitcher in team history.

Rogers was also a four time selection as the Rangers Pitcher of the Year (94, 95, 2002, 2005), he was selected to three MLB All-Star teams (95, 2004, 2005) and won three Gold Gloves (2002, 04, 05) as a member of the Rangers.

But his career highlight with the team came on July 28, 1994 at the Ballpark.  Rogers pitched perfection, throwing the only perfect game in Rangers team history in a 4-0 win over the Angels.

Rogers will be inducted into the Rangers Hall of Fame during pre-game ceremonies on August 6, but before that he's been ranked #15 of the 21 Best Rangers Ever.
