2 Teens Die In Fort Worth Collision

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Balloons, flowers and notes mark the spot in southeast Fort Worth where a fatal Friday collision left two teenagers dead.

Ivan Torres, 17, died at John Peter Smith Hospital on Saturday. His passenger, 15-year-old Jeanette Lopez, died at the scene.

A Fort Worth Police Department accident report says Torres was driving his truck along Mitchell Blvd. with two female passengers when he crossed the center lane and veered head on into a maroon colored Chevrolet Avalanche.

Lopez was pronounced dead on location while Torres died from his injuries Saturday afternoon.

All four people in the Avalanche were hospitalized and released.

Close friends say Torres had told them he was going to stop racing before the accident occurred.

"Come to find out he doing it again and this is what happened," said Terrance Dalworth, a friend. "You know, taking too many chances and now it's still hurting. It's touching my heart."
