FORT WORTH (CBSFW.COM) - Two school buses from the Robinson Independent School District were involved a crash early Friday morning. The incident happened after 9:00 a.m. close to the intersection of Intestate-35W and Allen Avenue in Fort Worth.

MedStar stated that 86 people were on board the two buses, most of which were sixth and seventh grade students. They were going to a band competition in Fort Worth. A 13-year-old girl was taken to Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth for a hurt shoulder, but no serious injuries were reported.

The Robinson ISD is located in the Waco area.

A third bus in the caravan was not involved in the crash. Some parents were traveling with the buses in their own cars, and said that the crash happened when a dog ran onto the highway. "It was crazy. I was scared," parent Erica Sanchez stated. "That's my son on the bus. But I'm glad that I was right there when it happened, just in case it was worse. I was ready to go over there and save some kids if I had to."

One of the school buses could no longer be driven, and a parent's silver SUV had to be towed away from the scene. It is not clear if the students will now head back to the Waco area or continue on to their competition.
