2 People Hurt In Dallas Drive-By Shooting

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Two people are being treated at the hospital on Thursday morning after being injured during a drive-by shooting near Fair Park. It happened at around midnight along Second Avenue, close to Fitzhugh Avenue, just blocks away from the fairgrounds.

According to officials with the Dallas Police Department, a large group of people were hanging out together when a white SUV approached them. Shots were fired and two individuals were hit. Investigators believe that the large group was targeted by the shooter.

Law enforcement officials have said why the group was targeted.

Police are now searching for the suspect or suspects, but there has been no additional information released.

Meanwhile, the victims are being treated at the hospital and are both expected to survive. Their names have not been released and officials have not commented on their exact injuries.
