2 People Dead In Wrong-Way Car Crash In Fort Worth
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Two people are dead and another person is in the hospital after a head-on car crash along Highway 287 in Fort Worth. The incident happened at about 2:15 a.m. Monday morning, and involved two people in a Cadillac and a tow truck driver.
The Cadillac entered the highway traveling in the wrong direction, police said, driving southbound in the northbound lanes of traffic. The driver and the passenger were both pronounced dead at the scene, according to Pedro Criado with the Fort Worth Police Department. The tow truck driver was transported to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth with a leg injury, and is expected to recover just fine.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner identified the victims as 24-year-old Christopher Brookins and 25-year-old Eric Jordan.
Police say the passenger in the Cadillac -- Jordan -- was out celebrating his 25th birthday, which was on Monday. The two men were heading back home from the downtown area. Shortly before the crash happened, police say Jordan was on a cell phone telling someone that he thought the car was traveling the wrong way on the highway.
