DFW AIRPORT (CBSDFW.COM) - There were two different planes and two scary problems at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport Thursday and airline passengers were right in the middle of it.

A few people were hurt on an American Airlines flight, but company officials described them as three minor injuries. An airport spokesperson did confirm that one person was taken to Baylor Hospital in Grapevine.

The AA plane was just about to leave for Chicago when there was a report of possible smoke in the cabin. The flight crew opened the emergency exits to get 141 passengers and five crewmembers out. The AA fleet crew was still at the gate, so they helped everyone get off the plane.

The airline put everyone on another plane and they arrived safely in Chicago.

Less than an hour after the AA incident, passengers on a Spirit Airlines flight saw flames shooting from beneath the wing as they landed at DFW, from Orlando. One of the landing gear tires had burst into flames, possibly caused by hot brakes.

Firefighters put the fire out, and there was no emergency evacuation needed on the Spirit jet. Passengers got off the plane at the gate, and no one was injured.

All things considered, the incidents had little impact on Thursday air travel for at DFW. There were a few afternoon delays, but most of those weather delays in other states.
