2 DISD Teachers Arrested On Sex Assault Charges
MESQUITE (CBSDFW.COM) - Two Dallas ISD teachers, a husband and wife, are accused of sexually assaulting several juveniles.
Jesse Castillo, 50, and his wife, 46-year-old Virginia Castillo, are in the Dallas County Jail. Jesse Castillo is facing three counts of sexual assault involving children. Virginia Castillo is charged with one count.
Mesquite police say they got a tip that the couple had "improper conduct" with several children.
Officers searched the Castillos' house and found what they call a "significant amount" of evidence.
Police say it looks like the victims were part-time employees of a side business the couple used to run out of their home.
Neighbor Eduardo Espinoza's daughter went over to the Castillos' house once for training. "I was fine with it because they are school teachers, who would suspect anything," says Espinoza, whose wife eventually stopped their daughter because she didn't have a good feeling about the couple.
Espinoza has lived next to the Castillos for more than a decade and he feels grateful his daughter wasn't caught up in what they were up to. "I can't even imagine what the parents are going through."
Mesquite detectives are still investigating, but they say so far none of the victims were students of the Castillos.
Jesse Castillo most recently taught at Comstock Middle School. Virginia Castillo taught at Mosely Elementary.
