2 Bodies Recovered From Joe Pool Lake

GRAND PRAIRIE (AP) - Police have recovered the bodies of a boy and a man who were not wearing life jackets while riding a personal watercraft at a Dallas-area lake.

Grand Prairie police say 13-year-old Erick Lara from Mexico and 32-year-old Juan Castro of Grand Prairie apparently drowned. Sgt. Chris Chopin says the deaths appear to have been accidental.

Chopin says the personal watercraft was found floating in the middle of the Joe Pool Lake on Sunday, with no sign of the riders. Searchers located the bodies Tuesday.

Police say the teen had been visiting relatives in the Dallas area. His hometown in Mexico was not immediately released.
