16-Year-Old Son Shot & Killed Defending His Mother

DALLAS (CBS 11) — He was defending his mother from her allegedly abusive boyfriend when, according to investigators, 16-year-old Jesus Ricardo Hernandez was shot and killed.
Dallas police are looking for murder suspect 26-year-old Jesus Anthony Rodriguez.
Investigators say Hernandez witnessed Rodriguez assaulting his mother when he and others in the home pulled Rodriguez outside.
Claudia Corona, with cuts on her face and a black eye, said her boyfriend became angry with her when she flushed his cocaine down the toilet.
In the backyard, investigators say Rodriguez pulled out a gun.
According to witnesses he fired one shot into the air. However, when the 16-year-old didn't run, Rodriguez turned the gun on him.
"When he saw my son wasn't even moving because he wasn't scared, he went ahead and shot him in the head," Corona said.
Hernandez was taken to Methodist Central Hospital, where he later died.
Police are asking anyone with information to the whereabouts of Rodriguez to call investigators at 214-671-3661.
