1 Person Dead In Fort Worth Rollover Crash

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - One person is dead and another is injured after a deadly rollover crash between a car and motorcycle in Fort Worth on Tuesday morning. Portions of East Rosedale Street at East Loop 820 are shut down under the Union Pacific railroad overpass while authorities investigate the crash.

Officer Sharron Neal of the Fort Worth Police Department said that witnesses saw a vehicle driving northbound on East Loop 820. "That vehicle was in a single lane, but did not maintain the lane, and was swerving back and forth in that lane," Neal said. "At which time, that vehicle picked up speed coming up onto the barrier of the wall, striking the railroad bridge, flipping."

Neal also said that the motorcycle did not initially make contact with the car. Instead, the driver laid his motorcycle down so that he would not run into it.

When the vehicle burst into flames, Neal said, "The motorcycle slid into it, striking a couple of other cars. The motorcycle driver was transported to an area hospital. At this time we do know the driver of the vehicle is deceased on the scene."
