FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM)- One of two suspects in a Fort Worth aggravated robbery and kidnapping has been arrested.
19-year-old Darrell Wayne Caldwell Jr was arrested Tuesday night after police responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle near a field in the 5600 block of Hensley Drive, in South Fort Worth.
Once detectives responded to the scene they matched the car, a 1999 Nissan Maxima, to an aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon in Forest Hill, where a woman was shot at a red light.
Caldwell was located at a motel near Alta Mesa blvd and I-35 in South Fort Worth.
Caldwell is also connected to the kidnapping of a Fort Worth woman last week.
The woman, who does not want to be identified, recalled, that she was forced in her car and held prisoner.
She also recalled that Caldwell and another suspect debated assaulting her.
Ultimately, the robbers left without hurting the young woman, and only taking her belonging.
Caldwell is in custody at Mansfield Law Enforcement Center. Fort Worth Police are still looking for the second suspect.
Police ask that if anyone who has information about Darrell Wayne Caldwell Jr. or the second suspect are asked to please call Robbery detectives at 817-392-4469 or Crime Stoppers 817-469-TIPS.
