ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) — Arlington police say they arrested a man for intoxication manslaughter after a deadly crash involving a motorcycle Friday night.
Police say a car failed to yield the right of way while pulling out of a parking lot to a motorcycle driving eastbound in the 2900 block of East Arkansas Lane around 11 p.m. The two collided, and the driver of the motorcycle, a 24-year-old Grand Prairie man, was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Officers arrested the car driver, 28-year-old Everett Matheney, for intoxication manslaughter, a spokesman for the department said. Matheney is in Arlington Jail.
A fundraiser has been created for the motorcyclist.
