$5,000 reward offered in shooting death of 16-year-old Marvel White in West Englewood

Police said officers responded to reports of two people barricaded inside an apartment, but no suspects were found, and no one was in custody.

Sheriff's police said officers executed a search warrant at the store in the 2200 block of West Taylor Street on July 2, after investigators discovered employees were knowingly buying stolen goods and reselling them at the store.
The plant, which was indefinitely idled in February 2023, is expected to reopen next year.
Sandra Kolalou was convicted back in April of murdering 69-year-old Frances Walker in October 2022 at a home in Arcadia Terrace.
"None of the accused members stated that they had knowledge that the Oath Keepers were a violent extremist group nor did they state that they had intentions of joining a violent extremist group," CPD leaders said.
Zokir S. Kudratov, 55, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
Four times since late June, the robber has used a dating app to arrange meetings with his targets, and then robbed them at gunpoint.
"We are here to say emphatically, this is enough. It's enough. When this reckless violence ravages across our city at this magnitude, we are losing a piece of the soul of Chicago," Mayor Brandon Johnson said.
Schneider, a Democrat from Illinois, called the vandalism "a vile act of hate."
The victim suffered trauma to the body while handling the firework and died at the scene.
Police said a 30-year-old man was found unresponsive in the water around 9:40 a.m. in the 3300 block of West Redfield Drive.
Police said two men got into a fight at the Halsted stop on the Orange Line around 12:20 p.m., and during the fight a 44-year-old man was shot in the foot.
Llamas said he is stepping down Aug. 1 to care for his ailing father, who is battling stage 4 stomach cancer.
