The president did a quick ride-around in a motorcade. His doctors said his condition was improving but revealed he got steroids recommended for very sick patients.
"It shouldn't be a surprise that the Senate is willing to push a president's nominee through in an election year when they share the same political affiliation," Barrett said.
"This election will decide whether we will defend the American way of life, or whether we allow a radical movement to completely dismantle and destroy it," the president said
"The choice in this election is whether America remains America," Pence said.
The U.S. has "no information or intelligence" showing foreign powers are attempting to compromise mail-in voting, a senior official said.
Democrats criticized the postmaster general for overseeing recent operational changes that led to delays in mail delivery.
The Republican National Convention continues Tuesday.
