Layla Ferris combines traditional reporting methods with forensic verification techniques. She started her journalism career at Storyful, where she sourced and verified user-generated content and tracked misinformation.

Before coming to CBS News, Layla was a visual verification producer at ABC News, focusing on breaking news and conflict coverage.

Layla graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor's degree in journalism and a minor in women's and gender studies. Layla is now based in New York.
