North Carolina substation attacks underscore power grid vulnerabilities

Police said "tips and leads" have indicated that the person or persons in the vehicle might have "critical information" about the slayings.
The state of North Carolina, power company Duke Energy, and Moore County are each offering up to $25,000 for information.
"This dangerous action in international waters is indicative of Iran's destabilizing activity across the Middle East," said a spokesperson for the United States Central Command.
It was first estimated that it would take until Thursday, Dec. 8 to reconnect all affected customers.
DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said Monday that an investigation was underway to determine whether it was "an act of malfeasance or otherwise."
Prosecutors say the suspect called and threatened the National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center after misinformation spread online about procedures at Boston Children's Hospital.
Health officials have seen higher numbers of cases caused by Group A streptococci, bacteria that can cause respiratory and skin infections including strep throat, impetigo and scarlet fever.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said that fentanyl was not involved in the incident.
