Trump banks on fear and anxiety to motivate voters

The president said on Thursday he will sign an executive order that lays out that vision, but has no legislative power.
Mr. Trump brought up Wednesday night's shooting of two police officers in Louisville, Kentucky.
Onlookers at the Supreme Court loudly booed and chanted "Vote him out!" as Trump stood by Ginsburg's casket.
The president also fielded questions about his Supreme Court nominee and about the development of a COVID vaccine.
"I think this will end up in the Supreme Court," the president said of the presidential election.
The president said law enforcement threw a reporter aside "like he was a little bag of popcorn."
The continuing resolution passed 359-57-1 Tuesday night, with only Republicans and libertarian Representative Justin Amash opposing it.
Polling shows former Vice President Joe Biden is leading President Trump slightly in the state.
One of the leading candidates was at the White House Monday.
"President Trump's nominee will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate," Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said.
The Democratic presidential nominee said the focus for the next few days should be Ruth Bader Ginsburg's legacy.
She fought for equal rights, both before and after she joined the bench.
The president said the project aimed at exploring how central slavery was to America's founding "warped" American history. He also signed an order creating a "1776 commission."
The president also said he knows better than his own experts in many cases.
