The president made the announcement on Twitter, saying he and Melania would begin the quarantine process immediately, with the election just weeks away.
Hicks traveled with the president, and a number of other senior officials, on Tuesday and Wednesday.
In Tuesday night's debate, President Trump told the Proud Boys to "stand back and stand by."
The debate airs Tuesday night at 9 p.m. ET and will be taking place in Cleveland.
