Man killed, woman hurt in drive-by shooting in South Loop

Police said just before 7 p.m., a man grabbed the woman in the area of West Pierce and Central Park Avenue while she was searching for an item in her car.
The body was found by a fishing charter about two miles off Dempster Street Beach.
The Lindenhurst Police Department responded to the 1700 block of Grand Avenue at 11:37 p.m. to a single-vehicle crash involving injuries.
"We are here to say emphatically, this is enough. It's enough. When this reckless violence ravages across our city at this magnitude, we are losing a piece of the soul of Chicago," Mayor Brandon Johnson said.
The victim was treated by Chicago fire crews at the scene but refused any further medical treatment.
Chicago police said around 11:45 p.m., the boy was beaten by several other males on the street in the 7300 block of West Gregory Street.
The victim suffered trauma to the body while handling the firework and died at the scene.
At least seven burglaries were reported on Thursday.
State police said the driver was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead.
Both were charged with felonies, including first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and murder with other forcible felony.
Police said the shooting may have stemmed from a personal dispute. One of the victims was a 7-year-old boy who died.
Police said the suspect approached the victim at the 69th Street station platform and used a translator app to demand their belongings or they would be shot.
The body was first found by three men and a woman after entering the site to explore the property.
Cooper Roberts, now 10, was paralyzed from the waist down after his spinal cord was severed when he was shot.
