Boy, 12, shot in leg in Washington Park neighborhood

The robbery happened on Friday, July 19, just before 12:30 a.m. at the Morse stop in the 1300 block of West Morse Avenue.
The shooting happened just before 9:30 p.m. in the 7100 block of South State Street in the Park Manor neighborhood.
Police said the suspect approached the victim while riding the train and became irate. That's when he struck the victim with a pair of pliers, cutting them, and then began strangling the victim.
The burglary crew was said to be traveling in a 2017 Black Dodge Durango with plate number AC43724.
Police said they were identified as the people who took belongings from a man, 48, in the 1200 block of South Halsted Street after implying they had a weapon.
A person of interest, who has not been identified, was taken into custody, police confirmed Friday morning.
Fire officials took the victim to the University of Chicago Medical Center in fair condition.
It was last seen driving northbound on Jeffery under the viaduct.
The robberies happened during the afternoon and evening hours in June and July in the Bronzeville and Kenwood neighborhoods.
The burglaries happened in the Andersonville, Norwood Park, and Edison Park neighborhoods during the early morning hours.
Police arrived at the scene where the resident and gunman, who confessed to the shooting, were outside. Both were taken into custody for questioning.
The incident happened on the platform in the 300 block of South Dearborn Street around 3:30 p.m.
