Man killed, another wounded in West Side shooting, police say

Garcia-Espinal formerly worked at the Sunset Ridge School, where, in 2020, he allegedly hid a video camera in a school bathroom and recorded students and staff without their knowledge or consent.
The district said the closures are due to "widespread storm impacts, including power outages and damage."
Chicago police said the suspect and the victim were fighting before the stabbing occurred.
Police said the suspect allegedly punched the victim in the face, causing him to fall and lose consciousness.
Chicago police said a 77-year-old woman was driving a Subaru SUV when she lost control of the vehicle and hit multiple fences and then a home.
Initial reports indicated that the BMW, driven by the teen, was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Elad Road when the driver lost control, left the roadway, and hit a tree.
The suspect was taken to Mt. Sinai with multiple gunshots to the upper body and was pronounced dead, CPD said in an update on Monday night.
Witnesses at the scene reported that Arreola hit the rooster multiple times while trying to place the rooster into a shopping cart.
The Will County Sheriff's Office responded to a call of a person in the roadway just after 6 p.m. on Friday on 159th Avenue between Gougar and Cedar Roads.
The ages of the victims range from 13 to 79, according to Chicago police.
Police said the victims were approached by the suspect, who allegedly participated with others in taking one person's belongings, and tried to rob another minutes apart.
At least two mechanics were called to try to stop the blaring sound.
The burglaries took place between 2:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. in the Kenwood, South Shore, Washington Heights, Beverly, Archer Heights, and West Elsdon neighborhoods, police say.
Chicago police said the pedestrian was taken to St. Francis Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
