Southern California deputy shot and killed; suspect in custody

The dog's owner, a 20-year-old man, was taken into custody on allegations of negligent homicide.
Officials said the two people aboard suffered life-threatening injuries.
The suspect was killed following a police pursuit.
The fatal shooting occurred on the first floor of a Nordstrom.
During the course of the storm, temperatures could plummet by 25 to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in "only a few hours," the weather service warned.
The suspect told detectives he killed the girl because "she was going to tell her father about being hit by the FedEx truck," the warrant states.
The suspect, a FedEx contract driver, delivered a package to the victim's home about the time she disappeared, authorities said.
The single-engine Arion Lightning crashed while the pilot was attempting to land at Torrance Municipal Airport, the FAA said.
The plane was bound from Houston to Columbus when it was diverted to Little Rock.
