Federal agents deployed pepper balls at 50 to 75 protesters standing outside the facility, despite the fencing. At least two protesters were detained on Friday morning.
Police said when officers arrived, the 24-year-old man exited the house with a gun and "engaged" with the officers.
The student told police the truck driver rolled down his window and said, "Hey kid, get in the car."
All eastbound lanes are blocked east of Calumet Avenue as crews work to clear the roadway.
