Nearly 1,000 Minnesota PCA applicants are stuck in background check limbo
Amidst Minnesota's personal care assistant (PCA) staffing shortage, there are some people who want to work but can't.

"People who've grown up in this kind of situation know how to walk on ice, typically," John Guion said. "You have to modify your steps."

"You just see it lined with people and realize that it's 700,000 people in front of you," said Leon Sieve, the band's co-director. "That's your moment just to take a deep breath and look and see, because very few people get that opportunity."
A Nordstrom employee at the Mall of America is sharing his experience inside the store during last month's shooting.
The most recent data show Minnesota has more than 7,000 job vacancies in the personal care industry.
Minnesota shelters are making the effort to bring people experiencing homelessness in from the cold.
George Musser's body was found Sunday after he disappeared on Christmas Eve from a bar in downtown Stillwater.
"We're Minnesotans. [The] safety of our drivers and our folks are definitely of utmost priority," said Amazon's Scott Seroka.
More than 30,000 passengers are expected at the airport on Thursday and Friday. But with the weather, those crowds could shift to the weekend.
"The anticipation is so big that you don't really know how to prepare for it sometimes," said Grace Brandt, a senior conductor.
