Passaic River sends more water into flood-ravaged Paterson

Christina is proud to be from Central Jersey, where her parents still live. She is thrilled to be back home and visits her family every week, where she enjoys eating her mom's home-cooked meals and then tries burning off the calories by playing tennis. Christina is a diehard fan of Novak Djokovic.

Flooding was so pervasive across the town on Monday, it was hard to tell where Bound Brook ended and roads began.
Neighbors trying to escape said smoke from the fire was so thick it seemed like they were running into darkness.
Officers said the sidewalk and walls at the scene were covered in blood when they arrived.
Officials say the fire impacted five businesses, including a dry cleaner, a meat market and a seafood market.
Flames devoured St. George Orthodox Church, leaving little but brick and rubble of what used to be a community hall.
The storm also caused streams to swell over their banks.
The bottom line is if your vehicle makes a sound over 85 decibels, cameras will capture your license plate and send you a ticket.
Parents were outraged after learning about the stabbing from their kids hours before the school sent any kind of notification.
"He just started to decline, just the disrespect, the loud voice and superiority. He needed to have this power over people where it was hard to talk to him," Gordon's cousin said.
Investigators believe the suspect started a fire inside the house before he tried to leave and was shot by police.
Police said no criminality is suspected. The medical examiner's office will determine how she died.
