Ex-officials want focus on domestic terrorism
After the deadly mass shootings in Texas and Ohio over the weekend, a group of former senior directors for counterterrorism at the National Security Council called on the government to make addressing domestic terrorism a high priority. Authorities have said the 21-year-old accused of carrying out the shooting in El Paso, Texas, will be treated as a domestic terrorist. New Zealand shooting suspect appears in court
Brenton Tarrant, an Australian national, was charged with murder Saturday. He's accused of killing dozens in a shooting rampage fueled by white nationalism and anti-immigrant ideology. Forty-nine people died in the attack New Zealand's deadliest shooting since 1990. Dozens more victims are hospitalized. The patients are as young as two-years old. The oldest are in their 60s.
