Protests in wake of Tyre Nichols video

Tyre Nichols was on his way home when Memphis Police pulled him over on Jan. 7. Disturbing video from a surveillance camera and police bodycams show officers tasing Nichols, tackling him to the ground and striking him repeatedly with their boots and batons as he wails, screams for his mother and cries "I'm just trying to go home." Nichols died three days later. Protesters took to the streets across the country after the release of the video. Elise Preston reports.

Nichols' mother: "I've never seen the video"

The family of Tyre Nichols is calling for demonstrators to remain peaceful once authorities release footage from the 29-year-old's arrest. Nichols was hospitalized and died three days after a traffic stop earlier this month turned violent. CBS News correspondent Omar Villafranca reports, and CBS News anchors Vladimir Duthiers and Meg Oliver speak with New York Law School professor Kirk Burkhalter about how race will play a part in this case.
