Florida legislature passes flurry of bills

Florida's Republican-led legislature passed a series of conservative bills, including measures easing up gun laws, expanding the state's so-called "don't say gay" law and banning transgender people from using bathrooms that match their gender identities. It comes as Gov. Ron DeSantis is expected to announce a 2024 run for president. DeSantis' ultra-conservative Florida record

The Florida state legislative session is in its final days and Gov. Ron DeSantis has signed several high-profile bills into law that he could use to his advantage in a 2024 Republican primary. These include a ban on abortions after six weeks of pregnancy, the ability for Florida residents to carry concealed guns without a permit, and a lowered threshold required for juries to impose the death penalty. CBS News senior White House and political correspondent Ed O'Keefe reports.

Disney-DeSantis feud heads to court

Disney's long-running feud with Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is now headed to court. The company filed a First Amendment lawsuit against DeSantis Wednesday, alleging he has led "a targeted campaign of government retaliation" against Disney since its public criticism of the state's so-called "Don't Say Gay" bill last March. Politico's Florida Playbook newsletter co-author Gary Fineout joins CBS News with details on the ongoing dispute.
