Democrats denounce RFK Jr. at hearing

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is challenging President Biden in the 2024 Democratic primary, testified Thursday at a congressional hearing for the Republican-led Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government. The hearing turned into an examination of Kennedy's past comments about COVID-19, vaccinations and other topics, which have been debunked and condemned by many, including his own family members. CBS News chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett reports.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. called on the White House to de-escalate tensions with Russia and even suggested the president should meet with Vladimir Putin while speaking in New Hampshire Tuesday night. Kennedy is challenging President Biden for the party's nomination. He is also an anti-vaccine activist and has been accused of spreading misinformation. James Pindell, a political reporter for the Boston Globe, joined CBS News to talk about Kennedy Jr.'s campaign.

RFK Jr. reflects on father's assassination

Americans are marking this week's 50th anniversary of the death of Robert F. Kennedy. The senator and presidential candidate was assassinated minutes after winning California's 1968 Democratic primary. His son, Robert Kennedy Jr., visited his father's gravesite Wednesday at Arlington National Cemetery. The younger Kennedy spoke with Michelle Miller about his father's legacy and why he thinks his father "would be disappointed" by today's political landscape.
