The U.S. and the U.K. carried out strikes on targets in Yemen as a response to Houthi rebel attacks in the Red Sea, President Biden announced in a statement Thursday night. The U.S. and the U.K. carried out airstrikes Thursday on Houthi rebels in Yemen. This comes after the Iranian-backed militia group has targeted cargo ships and tankers in the Red Sea dozens of times over the past few months. CBS News chief White House correspondent Nancy Cordes has the latest.

The U.S. and United Kingdom on Thursday launched military strikes on Iranian-back Houthi targets in Yemen in retaliation for dozens of recent Houthi attacks targeting commercial vessels in the Red Sea. Nancy Cordes has more from the White House.
