D.A. Willis proposes new trial date for Trump

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis asked a judge on Thursday to set a trial date of Oct. 23, 2023, for Donald Trump and the 18 other defendants charged in connection with alleged efforts to overturn the state's 2020 election results. Less than two hours later, Trump's newly appointed attorney informed the court that the former president opposes the Oct. 23 date. Judge denies Meadows' attempt to delay arrest

Rudy Giuliani, former personal attorney for former President Donald Trump, surrendered in Atlanta, Georgia, Wednesday to face racketeering charges in connection with alleged efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election in Georgia. Plus, a federal judge denied former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows' attempt to delay his arrest in the case. CBS News congressional correspondent Nikole Killion reports from Fulton County.

More Trump co-defendants surrender in Georgia

Donald Trump's co-defendants in the Georgia 2020 election interference case have begun turning themselves in to the Fulton County Jail. The former president is expected to surrender Thursday, and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani could surrender as soon as Wednesday. Meanwhile, in Milwaukee, eight of Trump's GOP competitors are readying for a debate Wednesday night. CBS News congressional correspondent Nikole Killion and CBS News homeland security and justice reporter Nicole Sganga have the latest from Atlanta.
