Dems fight for breakout moments in debate

The 2020 presidential race is heating up ahead of part two of the first Democratic debate, which will feature former Vice President Joe Biden, Sen. Bernie Sanders and eight other candidates. Ten presidential hopefuls sparred in the first part of the debate with health care, immigration and the economy among the issues discussed. CBS News chief Washington correspondent Major Garrett and CBSN political contributor Molly Hooper joined CBSN to break it all down.

Buttigieg: Trump deserves to be impeached

Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg said he believes President Trump should be impeached, but the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, also supported House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's cautious approach to the issue. Buttigieg covered numerous topics during an MSNBC town hall, including the president's trade war with China and his own qualifications to be president. Amazon and Google face antitrust questions

The Justice Department and FTC have split oversight over Amazon and Google as a possible antitrust investigation looms. Google alone has faced three fines in Europe for violating antitrust laws, and some U.S. lawmakers are call for big tech companies to break up. Charlotte Slaiman, former FTC antitrust enforcement attorney and now policy counsel for competition at Public Knowledge, joined CBSN to explain how antitrust investigations work.
