Worldview: An ambush in Mexico, Paris locks down

At least 13 law enforcement officials were killed in central Mexico when the their convoy was attacked. Myanmar lawmakers ousted in last month's military takeover are considering referring the coupmakers to the International Criminal Court for alleged crimes against humanity, as the death toll from nationwide crackdowns on protests rises. Paris and other areas in France are preparing for a monthlong lockdown in the face of another spike in COVID-19 cases. Top U.S. and Chinese diplomats to meet in Alaska

Next week the U.S. and China will hold their first senior-level talks since President Biden took office. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan will meet Beijing's diplomats in Alaska on March 18. CBS News senior foreign policy correspondent and "Face the Nation" moderator Margaret Brennan joins CBSN's "Red & Blue" anchor Elaine Quijano with more on that, plus the U.S. response to a major cyberattack against Microsoft.

Hong Kong activist on China's latest move

Since massive anti-government and anti-China protests erupted in Hong Kong over much of 2019, Chinese officials have been clamping down on the once-semi-autonomous financial hub to muzzle pro-democracy politicians and popular support. A vote in Beijing to restructure Hong Kong's electoral system will add more seats to the city's political bodies, and an opposition politician and activist worries most of the people filling those seats will be Beijing loyalists. CBS News Asia correspondent Ramy Inocencio reports.

WorldView: Brazil hit with COVID-19 surge
