CDC discusses Johnson & Johnson vaccine

A CDC advisory committee reconvened on Friday to discuss whether it's safe to resume administering the Johnson and Johnson one-dose COVID-19 vaccine. This comes after several people reported developing blood clots after receiving the shot. At least two people have died as a result of those clots. Tanya Rivero spoke with Dr. William Schaffner, professor of Infectious Diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, about what outcome we can expect from the meeting.

States halting use of Johnson & Johnson vaccine

All 50 states are halting use of Johnson and Johnson's coronavirus vaccine after at least six women developed blood clots. As CBS News' Jericka Duncan reports, the FDA and the CDC recommended a temporary pause to investigate these cases out of an "abundance of caution." Dr. Taison Bell, a critical care and infectious disease physician and the medical ICU director at the University of Virginia, joins CBSN's Elaine Quijano to discuss the latest.
