Hottest May on record

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration or NOAA said that this was the hottest May on record in U.S. history. This was due a to variety of factors. One was being that the jet stream was position more northerly than normal. This allowed a heat ridge to sit over the mid-western United States. A study has also come out that shows hurricanes are moving 10 percent slower. This means more storms like Harvey from August of 2017 which dumped a tremendous amount of rainfall.
