"American Moonshot" space race

Last month President Mike Pence spoke about the Trump administration's goal for a return to the moon by 2024. This echoes a call made by President John F. Kennedy in a 1961 speech to Congress. Kennedy's challenge set off a race to put a man on the moon before the Soviet Union. With the 50th anniversary of the moon landing coming this July, historian Douglas Brinkley joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss the back story of the mission in his new book, "American Moonshot: John F. Kennedy and the Great Space Race."
