Recent studies from the American Heart Association show how women’s symptoms are often overlooked or misunderstood. Dr. Tara Narula, cardiologist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York and national spokesperson for the American Heart Association, joins “CBS This Morning” to discuss the findings.

The American Stroke Association is issuing stroke risk guidelines for women to help identify and reduce risk

For the first time, the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association are issuing stroke risk guidelines for women. The ASA is emphasizing that hormones, birth control, pregnancy, and childbirth play a role in a woman's risk of a stroke and that exercise, a low-sodium diet, and regular check-ups go a long way to keeping women heart healthy.
