Speaking on television for the first time since her father's death, Nicky Trebek said that she is launching a team for the virtual PurpleStride walk, which benefits the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
Alex Trebek's wardrobe from "Jeopardy!" is being donated to a nonprofit where men who've struggled with homelessness, incarceration or addiction can suit up for a shot at redemption. Adriana Diaz has more.
The donation included 14 suits, 58 dress shirts, 300 neckties and many more items.
"Let's be totally clear: No one will ever replace the great Alex Trebek, but we can honor him by playing the game he loved," Jennings said to open the show.
A video tribute to the host closed Friday's episode of the quiz show, the final one that Trebek taped before pancreatic cancer claimed his life on November 8.
"The man made being smart, cool, and what a great legacy that is," executive producer Mike Richards told CBSN.
"Jeopardy!" is airing the final episode taped by its beloved host Alex Trebek, who was the face of the game show for 36 years until his death from pancreatic cancer in early November at the age of 80. CBSN's Vladimir Duthiers shows us, he remained a constant, calming presence through it all.
He made the plea at start of what turned out to be one of the last episodes he appeared in before his death.
The final episode will conclude with a tribute to the longtime and beloved host.
"In spite of what America and the rest of the world is experiencing right now, there are many reasons to be thankful," Trebek said.
The game show said it will have a "series" of interim hosts before announcing a permanent replacement for Alex Trebek.
