Marking 3 years since Afghanistan withdrawal

Thursday marks three years since the Taliban seized control of Afghanistan. And at Bagram Airbase, once the center of America's war to unseat the Taliban and topple al-Qaeda, the Taliban held a parade showcasing abandoned U.S. and NATO military hardware. CBS News chief foreign affairs correspondent and "Face the Nation" moderator Margaret Brennan joins to discuss the current state of the country and some of the major changes since the U.S. left.

McKenzie: Afghanistan withdrawal "one the worst negotiating mistakes"

Retired Gen. Frank McKenzie, the former commander of the U.S. forces in the Middle East, writes in a new book that the withdrawal from Afghanistan, which was negotiated under former President Donald Trump and implemented under President Biden, was "one of the worst negotiating mistakes by the U.S." Both presidents, McKenzie tells "Face the Nation," shared a policy objective of leaving Afghanistan, regardless of the consequences."
