The Oakland Raiders rebounded against Pittsburgh after losing their first two games while the San Francisco 49ers stumbled in Minnesota.
The 49ers played the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday and never looked like themselves. After allowing their opposition to score a touchdown on their opening drive, helped by a personal foul penalty and a great play by Minnesota quarterback Christian Ponder, San Francisco was never in the game. It was the home team that showed heart and fight and handed San Francisco its first loss of the year.
Christian Ponder threw two touchdown passes to tight end Kyle Rudolph and ran for another score to help the Vikings hand the 49ers their first defeat, 24-13 on Sunday.
The 49ers are been lucky enough to stay healthy so far this year and may have Ted Ginn Jr. back as early as Sunday. The Vikings on the other hands have players missing on both sides of the ball and will have to upset the 49ers and do it short handed.
The 49ers face the Vikings and Pro Bowl running back Adrian Peterson in Minnesota Sunday. Peterson is back after suffering a torn ACL and ruptured MCL in December, but John Madden expects him to seriously challenge the 49ers strong run defense.

They will have to contain Minnesota running back Adrian Peterson, but for a team has such a strong defense this should not be a problem. The offense will stick to the same game plan it has used all season.
