Not to be confused with the Chris Hansen who’s always catching those predators, this Chris Hansen is a Microsoft Hedge fund manager (and super rich dude) is reportedly considering an investment in the team.

Magic Johnson

Johnson is one of the likelier candidates to buy the Clippers (oh, sweet revenge!), especially as a partner with the Guggenheim group, which is valued at hundreds of billions of dollars. Yahoo Sports reported the probability of the sale:

Magic Johnson and his billionaire backers, the Guggenheim Partners, want a chance to purchase the Los Angeles Clippers, league sources told Yahoo Sports. “Magic’s absolutely interested,” one source closely connected to Johnson’s business interests told Yahoo Sports on Sunday night.

Johnson already owns a share of the Los Angeles Dodgers as well, so he’s already familiar with the stakes of sports team ownership.

Frankie Muniz

Muniz, a longtime Clippers fan, tweeted “i am buying the los angeles clippers.” but, let’s be honest, that’s just probably not going to happen. Good one Malcolm.

Dr. Dre

Dre, who’s currently rumored to be considering pushing Beats by Dre into IPO, told TMZ he is “absolutely” interested in a bid for the team.

Floyd Mayweather

Mayweather told a group of reporters (as reported by ESPN) he could throw his hat in the ring if funds are confirmed. Mayweather said he was serious about his interest and that he had spoken with his adviser, Al Haymon, about teaming with Mayweather Promotions chief executive Leonard Ellerbe, Golden Boy Promotions chief executive Richard Schaefer and possibly others to make a bid for the Clippers. “Hopefully, we can do it, and it’s not just talk,” he told reporters.

Larry Ellison | Oprah Winfrey | David Geffen

Ellison is the fifth richest man in the world, boasting a fortune of around $49 billion dollars, David Geffen is a music mogul, and Oprah is, well, Oprah. Geffen has already told ESPN that he’d like to buy the team with Ellison and Oprah, with he and Ellison working as active managers and Oprah as an investor.
