Young Suspect Arrested In Palo Alto Assault, Robbery
PALO ALTO (BCN) - A juvenile was arrested Friday on suspicion of robbing a man of his wallet in Palo Alto.
Two people approached a man standing along a curb in the 500 block of Forest Avenue at about 12:10 a.m., police said.
One suspect held up a gun to the victim, who was talking on his cell phone, and demanded his wallet, police said.
The suspect hit the victim over the head, knocked him to the ground and took the wallet, police said.
Nearby police departments were notified of the crime, and East Palo Alto police spotted a car matching the description of the suspects' vehicle parked in the driveway of an East Palo Alto house.
Palo Alto, East Palo Alto and Menlo Park police went to the home, found one of the suspects and arrested him. He was booked into juvenile hall in San Jose.
At the home, officers recovered the victim's wallet, along with the handgun allegedly used in the robbery, police said.
